Over thirty years from the dramatic events in Gdansk Shipyard, the story of its superhero Lech Walesa attracts thousands of people. Visiting Exhibition "Roads to Freedom" you have an opportunity to trace the roots of this movement much much earlier as well as tragic events which took place ten years earlier. In 1970 workers protesting against plunging living standards called a strike supresed by the army and 45 people killed. Ten years later, a dismissal of a female crane operator provided the spark for workers to go on strike.
